Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
1. Policy Statement
1.1 Introduction
At The Be Group, we fully support the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and view its introduction as a significant step forward in combating slavery and human trafficking. We recognise our responsibility to remain vigilant to the risks of modern slavery, not only within our business but also across our supply chain.
We are committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of our operations and require the same commitment from all businesses we engage with. Employees are encouraged to report any concerns, and the Company is obligated to act on them.
This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement for the current financial year.
1.2 Scope
This policy applies to all employees of The Be Group Holdings (UK) Limited. It complements existing procedures and sets out expectations for all businesses we work with, whether they are clients or part of our supply chain.
1.3 Terms
References to the "Company" or "The Be Group" in this policy refer to Be Group Holdings (UK) Limited.
2. Our Business
We are insurance replacement specialists, working on behalf of national insurance companies to resolve claims for damaged or lost products.
Operating exclusively within the UK, our head office is located in Eastbourne, with an additional office in Bath.
We do not engage in activities considered high-risk for slavery or human trafficking.
3. Supply Chains
Our supply chain is integral to validating and, where possible, supplying products claimed under household insurance policies.
We maintain a preferred supplier list and conduct thorough due diligence before adding any supplier. This includes:
- Conducting online checks to ensure the organisation has no history of offences related to modern slavery.
- Requiring all suppliers to confirm that their business operations align with our anti-slavery policy.
4. Our Commitment to Slavery and Human Trafficking
We are dedicated to ensuring that modern slavery and human trafficking have no place in our supply chains or business operations. Our Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement reflects our commitment to ethical practices and integrity in all business relationships.
5. Due Diligence Processes
To identify and mitigate risks, we have implemented the following measures:
- Building long-standing relationships with suppliers and clearly communicating our expectations regarding ethical business behaviour.
- Requiring all new suppliers to have robust anti-slavery and human trafficking policies, verified during our due diligence process.
- Maintaining policies that encourage employees to report concerns, with protections in place for whistleblowers.
6. Measures
We review all suppliers annually to ensure ongoing compliance with our anti-slavery and human trafficking standards. This includes:
- Conducting an annual due diligence review for all suppliers.
- Recording compliance in an annual review document to ensure transparency and accountability.
